Richmond was selected for the Bridge Scholarship Award (2024) by the
American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America
(CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) to present his research
at the CSSA International Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Richmond won first place in the Plant Breeding and Data Analytics
Hackathon (2024) and was recognized as an Encompass Fellow (2024),
sponsored by Bayer Crop Science.
Nefertiti Griffin has been selected as the Marie Clark Taylor Fellow for the
2024-2025 academic year. A fellowship named after Dr. Marie Clark Taylor, the
first Black woman to earn a PhD in Botany. Through this fellowship, she had
the incredible opportunity to attend two amazing conferences in Lincoln,
Nebraska: the 2025 McFadden Symposium for Wheat Research and the
Nebraska Plant Science Symposium.
Lauren Waller was a recipient of the Marie Clark Taylor Fellowship and was
nominated to represent Delaware State University at the Coalition for Grain
Fiber Workshop in 2023.
PMB lab master’s degree graduates, Oluwatomi Esther Jacobs and Venkata
Hemanth Limmada received the Thomas Wyatt Turner Fellowship at Cornell
University for the 2022-2023 school year.
